Installations
There are several different styles of tents and each one has its own installation process. Just as there are many styles of tents, there are many ways to anchor them into the ground to secure them. All tents require anchoring but the type of anchoring is determined by the style of the tent and the surface the tent is to be installed on.

Concrete Installation

Drilled Anchors (Concrete or Stone)
Drop-in eyebolt anchors are used on concrete or stone surfaces. These anchors measure 1" round and 3' long. We use a concrete drill and go down about 3 ¼". The shaft is tapped into the hole and set into the surface. A ¾" eyebolt is screwed into the anchor, which is what we use to hook the ropes or ratchet straps to. Once the tent is removed, we replace the eyebolt with a hex nut to protect and cover the hole. This anchor can be used over and over for future events.

Asphalt Installation

Staking (Asphalt, Grass, Clay, Sandy Loam)
The proper method of securing tents is by staking the tent into the surface. Different style stakes are used for different type of surfaces. Marquee Tents uses 24"- 42" long 1" diameter double-headed steel stakes. This will penetrate asphalt, clay and sandy loam. We use a sledge hammer to drive the stakes into the surface by hand. The stakes are removed with a special device called a stake puller. When stakes are set in asphalt, the 1" diameter holes are filled in with a tar plug that completely repairs the holes and leaves the asphalt as good as new.

Water Barrel Installation

When penetrating the surface to secure a tent is not an option, anchoring a tent to water barrels is an alternative. 55 gallon barrels are filled with water to create a 400lb. weight. This can be done on smaller tents if the tent is only installed for a short amount of time. It is not the most desired method for Central Texas weather.

Accessories
Many different accessories can be added to tents. We carry several accessories that we can install, or you can add your own.

Tent walls are hooked to a rope that is sewn in around the perimeter valence of all tents. They are made in 20' or 30' lengths and Velcro together at the seams. Doors can be added with walls so the tent can be open or closed. This creates a nice clean entry/exit to the tent.

Small tent fans can be attached to the frame of the tent to help circulate the air. White extension cords are hidden in the framework to keep the tent free of unsightly cords.

Tent Liners can be hung in the ceiling of the tent to create a soft billowing effect. The fabric is attached to a pulley system in the center of the tent, and then hooked all the way around the perimeter. Usually, all the legs of the tent are draped, as well, to complete the look
Lighting
Lighting accessories can vary dramatically. Almost any type of lighting fixture can be hung in a tent. What is unique about Marquee Tents' lighting is our installation. We use only white extension cords that are hidden within the tent's frame work as to keep the inside of the tent clear of any unsightly cords. All of our hang points are inserted into the frame during the building of the tent so there are no large unsightly brackets holding fixtures to the tent. We stock specialty party lighting like twinkle lights, paper lantern lighting, chandeliers, modern fixtures and candleiers.

Lighting is a very important aspect to the design of the event. It should not only be functional, but the fixtures should match the theme and the glow should create the mood you desire throughout the evening. We can install the entire event, from the task lighting in the kitchen to up-lighting the landscape and setting the mood in your tent.
